■ 京都将棋 Kyoto ShogiKyoto Shogi is a two-player board game invented by Katsuya Tamiya.It was called also as Kyoto Ginkaku Kinkei Hifu Shogi (京都銀閣金鶏秘譜将棋).
Its game board is consisted from 5 by 5 square spaces.
Front and back side combination of each playing piece is very unique and different from normal Shogi.
Flipping the piece after each move is a biggest feature of this game.To win, checkmate opponent’s Gyoku (King).
■ Rule of playFrom the starting player, each player takes his or her turn alternately.
The turn player moves or drops just one of his or her piece.Moving or capturing way of each piece is same as normal Shogi but you have to flip the piece to another side just after move.Front and back side combination of each piece is:
[香Kyo ⇔ とTo][銀Gin ⇔ 角Kaku][金Kin ⇔ 桂Kei][飛Hi ⇔ 歩Fu]
*Exception: You may not flip Gyoku the king after move.*You can drop captured piece with either side (i.e.
front or back).*You can drop Fu or Kei at the space even if it cannot move after that (like the last row).*Foul play in normal Shogi like “Checkmate by dropping Fu” and “Double Fu of same player in the same column” are not prohibited.
